I've been having a lot of fun lately designing Adult Coloring Books and I am happy to announce that four of my new books are now available here at my shop, and also on Amazon (links below).
Well, beside the fact that it's a lot of fun to color - with gel pens, crayons, colored pencils, you name it - there are proven scientific health benefits to coloring. In fact, everyone, from researchers at Johns Hopkins University to the editors of Yoga Journal, have recommended coloring as an alternative to meditation.
In fact, "the American Art Therapy Association, art therapy is a mental health profession in which the process of making and creating artwork is used to 'explore feelings, reconcile emotional conflicts, foster self-awareness, manage behavior and addictions, develop social skills, improve reality orientation, reduce anxiety and increase self-esteem'" (from CNN).
I got into the adult coloring book craze from a different angle - instead of finding relaxation in coloring itself (though I do love that), I find it extremely relaxing to design coloring books. I enjoy creating mandalas and patterns, building books and, when appropriate, partnering with other artists and illustrators to include their designs in one of my books.
As of this writing, I have four new coloring books out. I plan to release 25 by the end of 2019 (I told you, I really like designing them).
Here are a few pages from my books:
Features 52 coloring pages with whales, dolphins, turtles, exotic fish, seahorses, jellyfish, etc. in full page patterns & ocean mandalas
Offers 50 designs, including 22 holiday wreaths, 25 snowflake mandalas and three holiday patterns. Level: Easy to Intermediate
As of this writing, I have four new coloring books out - My Flower Mandala Adult Coloring Book comes in two editions, one with white backgrounds and the other with black backgrounds (which make images "pop"). I plan to release 25 more books by the end of 2019 (I told you, I really like designing them).
If you're a colorist, you're already enjoying the joy and relaxation that comes from coloring. If not, I encourage you to give it a try.
